Beyond the Farm: Hong Kong trams and birthday preparations

Trams and Central Market

The family's Hong Kong adventure continues with breakfast, a double-decker tram ride and another look around Central Market. Tom finds miniature cars and model scenes that catch his eye, including a present for Alfie that will need assembling later.

Escalators, a former prison and a playground

The day takes them up the city's escalators to a former prison site, followed by a playground stop and food back at the hotel. There is also time to revisit memories from an earlier Hong Kong trip before saying goodbye to friends heading home. A possible future visit to the family's ancestral village is talked about as an idea, not a booked trip. Tram and food prices mentioned along the way are personal observations, not a visitor guide.

Birthday preparations

The funniest part comes after the children are asleep. Tom and Lydia try to put up a birthday display for Alfie, but the decorations have other ideas: letters keep dropping off as they try to get everything ready for morning.
