Lane improvements, big pumpkins and preparations for weekend two

Fresh stone for the lane, painting of the new pumpkin scales and a growing visitor-photo display are part of the preparations for the second pumpkin weekend shown in the vlog published 22 October. Some of the largest pumpkins have been moved nearer the lower picking area to make them easier to reach and carry.

Based on Life of Tom's vlog published 22 October 2026. This is a fan summary, not an official announcement.

Preparations are continuing at The 110 Farm as the team gets ready for the second pumpkin weekend. With wet conditions expected at the time of filming, the work includes practical improvements and a few new touches for visitors.

The lane and the scales

A fresh delivery of stone has arrived for the lane, with Joe rolling the surface and Tom pleased with the difference. That does not mean every path is resurfaced, dry or step-free. The large scales collected in the previous vlog are being painted as preparations continue for pumpkin weighing; Tom says their maximum is 110kg. Installation, calibration and routine visitor use have not been confirmed.

Big pumpkins brought closer

Papa Ken has been bringing some of the largest pumpkins down from the upper field to a lower picking area, to reduce the distance visitors need to walk and carry them, particularly in the rain. It remains an outdoor farm visit, so muddy and uneven ground is still possible. This is not an accessibility assessment, and it does not mean the upper patch is closed.

A bigger photo wall

Joe's idea is to add hinged boards that open like a picture book, giving more space for visitor memories. In this vlog it is being planned and prepared for weekend two, not shown fully installed.

Merchandise and the barn

Another merchandise delivery arrives to replenish stock that has sold quickly, including a new "Impossible" hoodie following the earlier T-shirt design. Check the official shop for current availability, sizes and prices; an online release is only described as a possibility. Tom also opens the Mega Barn shutter electrically with the generator while unloading. That is not proof of permanent mains power.

Also mentioned

The toilet service crew empties the toilets again. Chris and Sue are making coasters. Tom talks about new gateways and farm technology, revising his expectation from about three months to roughly six; this is an early aspiration with no fixed deadline. Behind the scenes the team is planning its own celebration after the patch finishes — it is not a public event and there is nothing to book. Jokes about next year's tickets do not mean any dates or sales have been announced.

For visitors, the practical message is the same: bring wellies, waterproofs and warm layers, use Unity Mill parking with £3 in correct change for the two-hour allowance, and keep neighbours' driveways clear.
